Alexander Fleming, known professionally as Black Atlass, first made waves in 2013 with his debut single ‘Paris,’ which effortlessly showcased his versatility by pairing an acoustic piano version with the original electronic mix. This duality hinted at the boundary-pushing artistry that would define his career. Two years later, in 2015, he made a notable appearance on Action Bronson's critically acclaimed Mr. Wonderful, further cementing his place in the industry.

Fleming's trajectory took a major turn in 2018 when he signed with The Weeknd’s XO Records, an alliance that opened new doors. That same year, he collaborated with Jessie Reyez on the hauntingly beautiful ‘Sacrifice’ for the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, a track that quickly amassed tens of millions of streams, marking his first major commercial breakthrough.

2018 also saw the release of his debut studio album, Pain & Pleasure, which was met with widespread acclaim and earned him a nomination for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the 2019 Juno Awards.
